The Digital Innovation Hub of the Galician Industry organised today a workshop to generate and promote R&D projects, with the majority participation of companies together with other agents of the ecosystem such as the Xunta de Galicia, clusters, technology centres and universities.
The event was divided into three blocks, starting with the presentation of the technological challenges that the industry has defined within DIHGIGAL and which will be of maximum relevance in the next call of the Xunta de Galicia’s programme called Conecta Hub, with a budget of 6.8 million euros.
The first of the blocks involved the participation of the Director of GAIN’s Programmes Area, Luisa Boquete, and CESGA’s Technical Sub-Director, Ignacio López, who presented some of the funding possibilities for digital transformation projects. Specifically, on behalf of GAIN, the Conecta Hubs line was presented for grouped R&D projects where the positive report of DIHGIGAL in terms of alignment with its challenges is favourable for its concession. This alignment will be threefold: strategic, economic and technical, as stated on DIHGIGAL’s own website. On the other hand, CESGA presented a financing line of 200,000 euros per proposal, linked to the European project FF4EuroHPC of which it is the promoter.
The second part of the seminar was about the technological offer to show how they can help companies in their digital transformation processes. Thus, as members of DIHGIGAL, the ICT Cluster of Galicia, the Universities of Coruña and Vigo, ITG and CESGA presented their capacities and examples of projects that served to illustrate and bring closer the collaboration between supply and demand.
Precisely, the demand experience was the focus of the third block, where representatives from Cofrico, GKN Driveline, Industrias Ferri and Selmark Lingerie shared their experiences in collaborative projects in different lines linked to R&D, being of great interest the summary of “lessons learned” and success cases.
In conclusion, participants were reminded that this workshop was a first step in energising projects that respond to the challenges of DIHGIGAL. In addition, the possibility of organising bilateral meetings with those entities that request it and to share ideas of projects to be developed within DIHGIGAL was opened.
