The University of Vigo becomes a member of the Industrial Digital Innovation Hub, being part of the Technology Offering Committee. UVigo’s membership will strengthen the ties of collaboration between the industrial ecosystem of Galicia and the university, not only as a training entity but also as a technological institution that generates new knowledge.

The UVigo is an institution that offers a great offer with more than 30 training and research centres in Galicia. It has more than 121 official bachelor’s and master’s degrees, 7 simultaneous degree programmes, 39 doctoral programmes and four internationally recognised degrees, which is just a sample of its activity and capacity to generate knowledge and training. UVigo also has a strong scientific and technological component with specific services, equipment, infrastructure and resources to enhance the capabilities of R&D. It also leads the Campus of International Excellence of the Euroregion Galicia – North of Portugal, the “Campus do Mar”, which brings together research and socio-economic agents related to the marine field.

Its mission is to contribute, through quality teaching and research, to the creation and transfer of knowledge through training, scientific and technological development, innovation and intellectual growth in a multicultural and multilingual society.

To sum up, UVigo is a backbone instrument for the generation of ideas in society that seeks to be an innovative benchmark in teaching, research, management and knowledge transfer. This, together with its international focus, guarantees its capacity as a member of the Supply Commission.

The Commission, already constituted in December 2020, will be a fundamental piece in the governance of DIHGIGAL, integrating the most relevant supply agents in the territory. It was created with the mission of organising the existing technological capacities in Galicia and facilitating the provision of solutions to companies in an agile manner, based on the challenges posed by the industry itself through the Demand Commission. Both commissions and the interaction between them are a central element in the functioning of DIHGIGAL.

From DIHGIGAL, we welcome the University of Vigo as a key element to achieve our goal: to promote the digital transformation of Galician companies.
